Perth update…

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Had a great trip to Perth this weekend. Flying in Australia is such a breeze compared to the states, they don’t even ask for ID! And security never cops an attitude with anyone – yes I know, there are a lot more people in the states, and there’s the whole terrorist threat issue, but that doesn’t give security the right to be so mean to everyone. Qantas has always been my favorite airline, I don’t know why so many people are now bitching about it, ever since Virgin Blue came into play (really sexy commercial though if you‘ve seen it, smoking hot flight attendants and pilots). Qantas provides you with free meals and free beer and wine and TV screens with movies, in every seat – for free. With the other airlines, you have to pay for all the extras.

I arrived in Perth on Friday, and was taken out to a very nice meal, then to a radio show on Nova. Checked in at the Inter-continental next to where Britney Spears concert was being held. So many hot girls walking around getting ready to go to the show, which a lot of people walked out on because of the lip-syncing. But seriously people, you try to sing and dance at the same time and still sound good and not be out of breath, it’s not easy, and physically impossible for most people. As long as she puts on a great show, who cares if she’s lip-syncing. Everyone always has to have something to bitch about don’t they! It‘s so bloody hard to please people sometimes.

Northbridge in Perth is a bit of a wild area, lots of action on the streets at night. Plenty of clubs and restaurants and drunken loud Aussies running amok as we do! The Voodoo Lounge is great, they treated me very well, the dancers were nice to me and all smoking hot. It’s more of a bar feeling with naked girls on stage. So it’s not like your regular strip joint. There’s no pressure to get lap dances, you can play pool, sit around and drink, watch the stage shows, whatever floats your boat.

Had a packed house to watch my shows, which was great. Always feels good to dance to a ton of people who are excited to see me perform. Tipping isn’t customary in Australia, and since we have 1 and 2 dollar coins, they have to use tipping dollars if they’re going to sit at the tip rail. So I played my usual game – the lotion show (which I had to demonstrate cause the crowd aren’t used to feature dancers and these games). And the second night I did my paint show, which everyone loved. It’s weird that I sold more books than movies, but hey, everything is free on the internet these days, so no big surprise there. I personally would rather pay for a CD or DVD than download it for free online, cause your stealing from the artists and production companies who spend a lot of money on producing these things, and a lot of time and effort, just for our entertainment. But I’m a firm believer in Karma, each to their own I guess.

So I’m now back in Sydney and about to change my flight to stay one more week, since I was recovering from tonsillitis all week and haven’t had time to catch up with my friends. So I’m taking a short break before heading back to LA to start shooting movies again! I’m actually excited, because I do miss making movies and doing photo shoots. And of course, I have plenty of projects going on to keep me very busy, music, lingerie, writing etc…

So until next time!

Luv Mon xoxo

Sydney Update…

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Had a whirlwind trip to Brisbane, with some great signings at ClubX in Brisbane city and Mt Gravatt. Had a blast from the past come and see me in Mt Gravatt, so great to catch up! Along with plenty of radio interviews. Then got to see my big bro later that night, which was a lot of fun, going out for Tapas, eating way too much, and unfortunately, had to cut it short by going to bed early to get up at 5am to fly to Sydney the next day.

Did a ton of interviews in Sydney, which were well worth it. And attended the Sexpo Gala Dinner and Erotic Film Festival that night, where I gave my speech on ‘Freedom of Speech and Censorship within Australia’. Although I had to cut it very short at the last minute, it went down extremely well, and people were actually surprised about how much research I had done, and how well I brought my point across. There is far too much censorship in Australia, especially for a country that has nude surfing competitions, and brothels!

Had my first two signings at Sexpo on Thursday, which was great. The show itself is actually very entertaining. It’s quite big, and there were a lot of great performances. A well known Aussie Comedian ‘Russell Gilbert’ was hosting . Very funny. Amazing performances by Suzie Q. And an artist by the name of ‘Picasso’ who uses his penis to paint portraits of people! You don’t see that everyday! Haha. He was great.

I took a ride in the ‘Penis Train’, which was like a ghost train ride, only you got spooked by penis’. I was cracking up the whole time.

What was great is that the stalls have ‘showbags’ for sale, just like the Ekka, which is an exhibition (Expo) – that’s what we used to call it in QLD. You can get toys, DVD’s (only R-rated), magazines, posters, lingerie and all kinds of different items. A lot different to any of the conventions I‘ve been to over the years in the States, they only have 2 porn stars headlining doing signings, which they fly out from the States and Europe. Of course I was there also, but it was a last minute gig to promote my book, so I had my own booth at the Sexpo Merchandise stall.

They also had strip clubs promoting there, where you could go into another room designed to look like the inside of a club, where girls were in there dancing. Anyone who had anything to do with the sex industry, was at this show! I guess that’s why they call it ‘SEXPO’. And I’m now doing my best to help out with the Australian Sex Party which you can learn more about at sexparty.org.au – Australia’s newest political force, doing their part in protecting citizen’s sexual rights and freedoms! Go Fiona Patten! You have my support, most definitely.

As for the book reviews, I’m so excited! People kept coming up to me saying how much they loved the book, and that they read it within 2 days, and wanted to read more. I was really nervous before it’s release, and to hear these things, really makes my day.

It was a great four days at Sexpo, although I suffered from Tonsillitis the whole time, so I couldn’t go out and mingle after. But it was still fun anyway.

I’m now catching up with family in Sydney for a few days, having a bit of a break before heading to Perth on Friday to perform at the Voodoo Lounge. I’m sure that will be awesome, I’ve heard great things about this club.

Until next time…..
